Every city has a culture. It is made up of its people, music, stories, songs, history and its relationship with place. So, how will our culture become climate-minded?
We need to tell a new story, one with bolder strokes, one that steps out of the ‘business-as-usual’ mindset. In this online workshop we will explore the role of mindfulness in supporting climate adaptation, action and behaviour change.
Can a personal meditation practice drive societal transformation? Some studies say, yes it can. Mindfulness has the potential to facilitate adaptation at all scales (through cognitive, managerial, structural, ontological, and epistemological change processes)(Wamsler, 2018).
Not only does mindfulness help with stress from climate migration, climate disasters and uncertain future thinking. It can also aid in innovation, creativity and initiating behaviour change in consumers.
As we yearn for ‘silver bullets’ in this climate emergency, are we yet willing to look at an ‘Inner Transition’ being a part of our climate action-plan?
During this online workshop, we will look at current research and then facilitate a discussion around these concepts.
